Grassroots America – We the People Executive Director JoAnn Fleming announces the GAWTP Board’s endorsement in the contested May 8 Tyler City Council race for District 6 ... Jason Wright.

Fleming:  “The GAWTP Board sets a very high standard for granting endorsements.  The Board carefully considers evidence of good character and judgment, qualifications, temperament, background, and record of past actions regarding local public policy.  A three-fourths majority vote (7 of 9 board members) in support of a candidate is required for endorsement.”

Fleming declared, “Endorsement of a candidate is a serious matter.  It is not merely a matter of endorsing someone because of community service, a winning personality, or a desire to give back to the community.  The proper management of multi-million dollar taxpayer-funded budgets is serious business and local elections must be taken seriously because of the direct impact on families and small business.   Read complete endorsement by clicking on Read more... below.

GAWTP Executive Director, JoAnn Fleming says, "We are going to fight this in the courts to make sure individual liberty is preserved in this country." "We believe if the federal government can tell you as an individual and tell a business this is what you will buy, and this is what you will do they will not stop at health insurance," said Fleming. GAWTP hopes to sign up 10,000 residents as plantiffs in the suit.
