Another Poll Shows Perry Ahead of GOP Pack in Texas Governor Race
The latest survey of the Texas governor race pretty much tracks with other recent ones: Gov. Rick Perry is leading with 45 percent in the race for the GOP gubernatorial nomination with Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison at 21 percent and Tea Party-favorite Debra Medina close behind at 19 percent. Sixteen percent are undecided.
The poll, conducted Feb. 1-7 by the University of Texas for the Texas Tribune, said that if the undecideds had to make a choice, 51 percent would go with Perry, 34 percent for Hutchison and 15 percent for Medina.
Medina becoming a factor in Texas Raleigh, N.C. – Rick Perry continues to hold onto a double digit lead in the Republican primary for Governor of Texas but the biggest story may be that Debra Medina is coming on strong. Perry is at 39% to 28% for Kay Bailey Hutchison and 24% for Medina. There are major splits within the race along ideological lines. Perry is at 42% with conservatives, and Medina is now outpolling Hutchison with them by a 25-23 margin.

Medina Campaign Responds to Glenn Beck Interview
by Debra Medina on Feb 11, 2010
I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.
Rick Perry leads Kay Bailey Hutchison and Debra Medina in the race for governor, but still hasn't won 50 percent of the voters, according to a new poll done for the Texas Credit Union League. By their reckoning, Perry has 49 percent; Hutchison has 27 percent and Debra Medina has 19 percent.
On the Democratic side, Bill White got 51 percent to Farouk Shami's 19 percent.
TCUL hired a Republican firm (Public Opinion Strategies) and a Democratic firm (Hamilton Campaigns) to survey primary voters from each party. They put the complete results, with crosstabs, on their website.
