Andrew Breitbart

Andrew Breitbart

So long for now, Andrew. We will soldier on…

By JoAnn Fleming, Executive Director, Grassroots America – We the People, March 1, 2012

I met the “bigger than life” happy warrior Andrew Breitbart in the summer of 2011 at a Liberty Rising event in Dallas. We’d just come off a very disappointing legislative session. Constitutional conservative activists were meeting to discuss the “go forward” for the grassroots movement in Texas. Andrew was a guest speaker. It just so happened this was the same week Andrew broke the Weinergate scandal.

Because of the unfolding events, Andrew landed late. He rushed into the dining room just in time to eat dinner before he spoke, and wouldn’t you know it?! Andrew plopped right down at the table where my friend Sharon and I were sitting with Catherine Engelbrecht (founder of True the Vote, King Street Patriots of Houston). Later, one of his top investigative reporters – a disheveled, nondescript-looking man named Lee – shuffled in to join us.

Andrew breathlessly began to fill us in on his activities, with Lee chiming in on what he was uncovering in the growing scandal. People who knew Andrew best say he always lived breathlessly – moving from one fight to the next. He did so seamlessly, never missing a beat.

Andrew was a tireless, fearless warrior – from his days with the Drudge Report through the launch of and all of his other “big dot com” sites. Andrew was a driven man because when he awoke from his own Progressive Leftist fog to the truth, he swore he would fight the Left until the day he died; and Andrew Breitbart did just that.

See Andrew in our Kings of Texas documentary trailer:

Without Andrew, we would never have known the truth about ACORN.  Without Andrew, Anthony Weiner might still be in Congress.

Andrew Breitbart desperately loved his country. He loved freedom.  He was un-intimidated by threats from political power-brokers. He stood toe to toe with radical members of the Occupy Movement. Make no mistake, he was hated by the establishment ruling class and their lapdogs, but Breitbart did not care. He was a man on a truth mission.

Thank you, fearless, tireless patriot. Your legacy will live on in the freedom-fighters you inspired.

Andrew Breitbart’s, CPAC speech, 2/10/2012:

“This is my war cry for 2012. You need to join me in this war against the institutional left. This is not your mother’s Democratic Party…I don’t care who the candidate is, and I haven’t since the beginning… Ask not what the candidate can do for you; ask what you can do for the candidate. And that’s what the Tea Party is. We are there to confront them on behalf of our candidate. I will march behind whoever our candidate is because if we don’t, we lose. There are two paths… one is America and the other one is Occupy… Anyone that’s willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive Left, I will be in that bunker. And if you’re not in that bunker because you’re not satisfied with this candidate, more than shame on you, you’re on the other side! This is our last chance.”
