Sarah Palin on Monday made a speech at a trade-association convention in Phoenix urging Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to “cease and desist” his “pump priming”. Palin said the United States, “shouldn’t be playing around with inflation.” She went on to say, "All this pump priming will come at a serious price. And I mean that literally: everyone who ever goes out shopping for groceries knows that prices have risen significantly over the past year or so. Pump priming would push them even higher." Bernanke testified under oath on June 3rd, 2009 in front of Congress saying, "The Federal Reserve will not monetize the debt." This was a lie and perjury. With baseball great Roger Clemens being indicted for lying to Congress under oath about a personal matter that is trivial compared to this, Bernanke should also be charged with similar crimes. When I announced for Speaker and you realized that you had opposition, you shelved out over $700,000 to Republicans some of whom were actually conservatives, but I believe you did so in violation of State law and I filed an Ethics Commission violation against you with both the Ethics Commission and the District Attorney of Travis County. One of your spokesman said my complaint has no merit. We shall see! For complete letter ... click on Read more... below

$89.95 Million Proposal Faced Organized Opposition By EMILY GUEVARA, Staff Writer, Tyler Courier Times, Tyler, TX In an election that saw enthusiastic opposition as well as passionate support, Tyler ISD voters defeated an $89.85 million bond proposal. Complete but unofficial results showed that 12,833 people, or 50.14 percent, voted against the bond package, while 12,762 people, or 49.86 percent, cast ballots for the measure. The proposal would have provided for the construction of new Dixie and Rice elementary schools along with a new middle school in southwest Tyler. "It was simply unacceptable for TISD to try to rush this," said JoAnn Fleming, executive director of Grassroots America-We the People, a local political group that opposed the bond. "Their process was flawed from the very beginning. They deviated from what they had done in the 2004 and 2008 bond elections." Grassroots America gives Tyler ISD Officials Failing Grade on Facility Planning. 50% of new Elementary Schools from 2004 & 2008 Bond Elections & the 2010 Bond Construction Projects will be at capacity or overcrowded in less than five years! It is time for some answers from TISD officials! Documents on TISD’s own website prove the point Grassroots America has been making about Tyler ISD’s ill-conceived $145 million bond package. Tyler ISD and the Vote Yes Committee are asking the taxpayers to just trust the district again and vote themselves more debt. Information we’ve discovered leaves us no choice but to give the District a FAILING grade on its facility planning, and to declare that we now are in a place where we simply can no longer trust the direction Tyler ISD’s leaders are taking us. Grassroots America Executive Director JoAnn Fleming today announced the organization’s opposition to Tyler ISD’s proposed $89.8 million bond on the upcoming November 2 ballot. Fleming says after a careful review of the bond package details, the Grassroots Board of Directors and Watchdog Committee found the bond package lacking in details necessary to ensure taxpayers the wisest long-term use of tax dollars. In good faith, we invited TISD officials to make their presentation to us last week. We spent more than two hours viewing their plans and asking questions. Bottom line – the district is not ready for this. There are just too many unanswered questions for taxpayers to take a $90 million risk and hope the district figures out the details later,” said Fleming. Orol, MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal, 5/11/10 WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- A compromise measure requiring the government to conduct a one-time and unprecedented audit of the Federal Reserve's emergency-response programs was unanimously approved Tuesday by the Senate as part of sweeping bank reform legislation. The amendment also calls for releasing the names of institutions that received in total more than $2 trillion in loans from the central bank during the peak of the financial crisis.
