Watch KETK story on Grassroots vs. TISD Bond http://www.ketknbc.com/news/grassroots-vs-tisd-trustees GRASSROOTS AMERICA – WE THE PEOPLE URGES“VOTE AGAINST” NOV. 2 TYLER ISD $89.8 MILLION BOND ELECTION Bad planning, bad timing, too many unanswered questions = a debt risk we can’t afford! Grassroots America Executive Director JoAnn Fleming today announced the organization’s opposition to Tyler ISD’s proposed $89.8 million bond on the upcoming November 2 ballot. Fleming says after a careful review of the bond package details, the Grassroots Board of Directors and Watchdog Committee found the bond package lacking in details necessary to ensure taxpayers the wisest long-term use of tax dollars. In good faith, we invited TISD officials to make their presentation to us last week. We spent more than two hours viewing their plans and asking questions. Bottom line – the district is not ready for this. There are just too many unanswered questions for taxpayers to take a $90 million risk and hope the district figures out the details later,” said Fleming. Grassroots America – We the People Executive Director JoAnn Fleming announces the GAWTP Board’s endorsement in the contested May 8 Tyler City Council race for District 6 ... Jason Wright. Fleming: “The GAWTP Board sets a very high standard for granting endorsements. The Board carefully considers evidence of good character and judgment, qualifications, temperament, background, and record of past actions regarding local public policy. A three-fourths majority vote (7 of 9 board members) in support of a candidate is required for endorsement.” Fleming declared, “Endorsement of a candidate is a serious matter. It is not merely a matter of endorsing someone because of community service, a winning personality, or a desire to give back to the community. The proper management of multi-million dollar taxpayer-funded budgets is serious business and local elections must be taken seriously because of the direct impact on families and small business. Phase 2: Grassroots America - We the People Operation Push Back ObamaCare! GAWTP is closely monitoring the un-Constitutional actions of the House Democrats. Last week, you were sent a list to phone. Thanks to all who pushed backby calling to let these out-of- control tyrants know you are watching. This is Phase 2 of Operation We the People Push Back ObamaCare! Get back on the phone NOW to fight for our Country! Start with each house member's local district office first. The DC lines are in meltdown. Try to reach the DC numbers AFTER you have phoned the local office. Start with the Texas House Members First! Melt down their lines! Tell them to: 1) make good on their promises for transparency and post the bill and its cost immediately because We the People deserve the chance and they have a duty to read the bill BEFORE voting on it! 2) Tell them we want an "up or down" vote on the actual bill -- NOT a procedural gimmick to go around the Constitution. 3) Urge them to vote NO. Let them know WE the People will not forget and we will NOT go away. Be firm but not abusive in your language. This is Urgent! ......
