WHO: Texas Railroad Commission Chairman Christi Craddick will present a program on successful oil and gas energy production in Texas as well as the long-term outlook for the industry. She’ll update on her initiatives to create efficiencies at the agency and reduce regulatory burdens on the energy industry without affecting environmental or public safety during a slowdown in oil and gas activity in Texas.
Chairman Craddick’s remarks will include the positive impact she believes President Trump is already having on important energy projects such as the Keystone XL and Dakota Pipeline projects. She will explain what effect this will have on Texas.
WHY: This information is important for understanding free markets, the important balance between environmental stewardship, private property rights, and energy independence. The Texas Oil and Gas industry also has a strong effect on local tax revenue, the TX Rainy Day Fund, and the state budget. Hint: The Texas Railroad Commission has NOTHING to do with Railroads!
