June 25 | New Property Tax Changes – Ross Kecseg
June 25 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
At the end of the 86th legislative session,
We the People of Texas
were given “Veto Power” over the growth
of local gov’t and rising property tax bills.
Lawmakers estimate local school property tax cuts to be lowered by an average of 8 cents per $100 valuation in 2020 and 13 cents in 2021. That would mean a tax cut of $200 for the owner of a $250,000 home in 2020 and $325 in 2021.
Do you wonder how this is different from past promised tax cuts you never noticed? Got questions?
Let’s talk about it with
Empower Texans’ President Ross Kecseg
and our own Executive Director JoAnn Fleming
Tuesday evening, June 25, 2019
5:30 PM $10 buffet opens for those who wish to dine.
Meeting from 6:30 PM – 8 PM
How does this “veto power” work for local taxpayers?
Does it apply to every local taxing entity?
When does our veto power kick in?
What carve-outs and exemptions can local governments claim?
Did we get any property appraisal reform?
When will the promised school property tax cuts happen?
Will the reduction in my school taxes last?
What happened to state government spending – did they limit their spending too?
How will Texas State Government “pay for” local property tax cuts? Hint: see the graphic below…
Don’t miss this meeting! Ross and JoAnn will have plenty of insights into what this PURPLE session of the legislature means for Election 2020.
JoAnn will also set the record straight on HOW the anti-election fraud bill was killed. Some Republicans who know better are running around blaming Democrats. That tired and untrue fig leaf excuse won’t cover up this mess!
