GAWTP Voter Guide – 9 Proposed Amendments

It’s Time to Vote 

Early voting has started and will run through November 1 for the nine proposed state constitutional amendments.  Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Traditionally, our state constitution is amended with 5% of voters turning out to vote!  This is a sad commentary, indicating a low awareness of how fragile freedom really is today and an ungrateful attitude toward the price our forefathers and veterans paid to make and keep us free.

Texas Photo Voter ID Law to be enforced for the first time

A valid photo ID is now required to vote in person in Texas, and NEED ID? is here to help fellow Texans learn the facts about Voter ID, answer questions about how Texas voters can get the ID needed to vote at the polls, and help all eligible Texans have an opportunity to cast a vote. Be sure to take your Texas driver’s license or other acceptable photo ID when going to the polls.

Please make YOUR voice heard! Study the issues and vote. For more details, we have posted a one page Grassroots America Voter Guide for printing and sharing.  We’ve also included a more detailed explanation for those who want to know how we arrived at our recommendations. Please pay extra attention to our Twelve Reasons to Vote Against Proposition 6, which is being heavily promoted by an advertising campaign, which is in part financed with a PAC set up by Speaker Joe Straus.
