Date: Friday, July 15, 2016
Time: 11:30 AM – 1 PM
Place: Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 10818 University Blvd., Tyler
No cost to attend. Public welcome. Bring a lunch or purchase Subway sandwich on site.
Speakers: Tyler Mayor Martin Heines and City Manager Ed Broussard
After the Mayor and City Manager present an overview of budget plans, Grassroots America’s Executive Director and President will engage the Mayor and City Manager on a variety of topics, including water quality, the impact of EPA mandates on city restaurants, half-cent sales tax projects, street and drainage maintenance, renewing the Half-Cent Sales Tax Pledge and the Texas Open Meetings Act. Because the City of Tyler is less dependent on property taxes and more dependent on sales tax revenue, this discussion is important for everyone who lives, works, and shops in Tyler.
