You can attend the historic national prayer event in Washington DC
organized by Pastor Dan Cummins of Bullard, Texas, without leaving your home!

Our nation is in deep trouble – a trouble that no manner of sheer human will, intellect, or political strategy can overcome. Our nation needs prayer-evoked mercy and wisdom from God – the same kind of prayers that literally made this nation possible. For the past three years, Pastor Dan Cummins of Bridlewood Church in Bullard, TX, has hosted an historic prayer event from Statuary Hall in our nation’s Capitol. The event is aptly titled “Washington – A Man of Prayer.” With the help of US Rep. Louie Gohmert, the event was presented to House Speaker John Boehner, who granted use of the prestigious Statuary Hall.

Washington – A Man of Prayer commemorates the events of April 30, 1789, when, after being sworn in at Federal Hall, President Washington and Congress proceeded to St. Paul’s Chapel. There in St. Paul’s Chapel – in one of his first official acts – President George Washington offered a prayer of dedication to God on America’s behalf. God opened the doors for Pastor Dan to do something that had not occurred in the Capitol (Statuary Hall) in over 100 years – a Christian-led prayer event! Did you know that from 1800 – 1879, Statuary Hall (the original chamber of the House) was the largest church on the east coast? That’s right – the original chamber of the US House of Representatives served as a Christian church! President Thomas Jefferson, who attended services there regularly, signed legislation allowing use of the Hall for church services. President James Madison (Father of the Constitution) also regularly attended church services in the Capitol.

At the time of this release, participating members of Congress will be:  from the Senate – Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, Tim Scott, Rand Paul and Mike Lee; from the House – Mike McIntyre, Louie Gohmert, Kristi Noem, Michele Bachmann, Corrine Brown, Tim Huelskamp, Steve King, Jeff Miller, Diane Black, Steve Womack, and Chris Stewart. As a bipartisan event, invitations were sent to all House and Senate members of Congress.

National Christian leaders participating include the program director for the event, Dr. Jim Garlow, as well as Bishop Harry Jackson Jr., Robert Jeffress (Dallas), Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, Penny Nance, Bill Federer, Bishop Angel Nunez, Rosemary Schindler-Garlow, Charmaine Yoest, Sergio De La Mora, Tony Perkins, Samuel Rodriguez and Rafael Cruz.
