Today, US Senator Ted Cruz issued a defining statement (SEE BELOW) on what is necessary to stop Obama’s Amnesty. We agree with Senator Cruz that Republicans should use the Congressional power of the purse and the blocking of White House appointments to stop this unconstitutional abuse of power.
To the talking heads on Fox News and cowardly political consultants who say the Republicans should not do anything that would cause President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to accuse Republicans of shutting down the government, are you out of your minds?!!
A mere month ago, voters across the US rejected Democrats in record numbers from state government all the way to Capitol Hill. Last year, when Senator Cruz for 21 hours filibustered a stopgap-spending bill in an attempt to defund Obamacare, Big Media, Fox News pundits, and cowardly establishment Republicans said Ted Cruz would surely cost the Republicans the mid-term elections. The reverse happened. The American people are ready for bold, courageous leadership to save this country. Republicans need to act like winners and stop caving to Big Business special interests and liberal Democrats to sell out this country.
Grassroots America stands with US Sen. Ted Cruz and US Rep. Louie Gohmert. Help them stop Obama’s Amnesty. Stop yelling at your television, pick up your phone, and dial these numbers. Tell these Republicans you want them to use the power of the purse and to hold up White House appointments to stop this amnesty.
Remember, your silence equals approval to an elected official.

Sen. Cruz: Both Houses Should Use Power of the Purse to Stop Obama’s Amnesty
Democratic support for Obama’s amnesty is crumbling; Republicans should force a vote
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today issued the following statement regarding funding proposals that are being considered by Republicans in the House:
“This November’s election was a referendum on executive amnesty, and the American people overwhelmingly oppose President Obama’s illegal amnesty. Republicans in Congress should use every tool at our disposal—our constitutional checks and balances—to stop President Obama’s amnesty. The Senate should use its constitutional authority to halt confirmations for non-national security positions, until the President stops this illegal amnesty. And both Houses should use the power of the purse, which the Framers understood to be the most potent tool Congress has to rein in an out-of-control Executive.
“We should pass a short-term continuing resolution that includes language defunding the implementation of the President’s executive action on amnesty.
“Nearly a dozen Senate Democrats have publicly expressed concerns about President Obama’s executive amnesty. Support for the President’s lawlessness decreases by the day, and House Republicans should provide Senate Democrats the opportunity to show voters whether or not they have heard the message the voters sent in the 2014 elections.”
Additionally, below is a partial list of statements made by Senate Democrats expressing various levels of concerns about President Obama’s unilateral amnesty.
