JoAnn’s Update: Fight the GOP Betrayal – Fight Amnesty Now
Apparently, our Monday message urging citizens to take action to call a list of TEXAS GOP US House members, US Senator John Cornyn, House Speaker John Boehner, and Senate Minority Leader (Majority Leader in 2015) Mitch McConnell was confusing to some. Let’s try again…
#1) The following is a link to a very important, but lengthy 12/7/14 article Breitbart reporter Matthew Boyle wrote about US Rep. Louie Gohmert blowing the lid off the GOP betrayal on amnesty. Louie gave an exclusive interview to Breitbart on the issue. The video clip Breitbart included in the article was a Fox News interview with Louie about the unconstitutionality of Obama’s executive order – not this latest procedural trickery. Please don’t be distracted by that – I’m not an editor for Breitbart! Just read the article in its entirety to understand how GOP House leadership is using trickery to help support Obama’s amnesty. What professional, career politicians like Pete Sessions, John Boehner, and Mitch McConnell say on television and what they actually do in secret, in committee hearings, and floor votes are not always the same. That is why the article is important and WHY you should call! http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/12/07/Exclusive-House-GOP-Leaders-Trick-216-House-Republicans-Into-Accidentally-Supporting-Obama-s-Executive-Amnesty
#2) The trickery vote described in the above article already took place! We know that. Your call to action is a call to let the GOP know you are on to their tricks. Your call to action is to the targeted list of US Reps from Texas, US Senator John Cornyn, House Speaker Boehner, and Senate Minority Leader McConnell to tell them you are paying attention to what they are doing. Tell them to stop wasting time and fight to stop Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty by using the power of the purse NOW and by holding up Obama’s appointments. The conservative plan is to pass a short-term Continuing Resolution rather than a long-term omnibus spending bill that will be loaded up with excessive spending and will take us into half of 2015. Establishment Republicans up for re-election will use that time-line as an excuse, saying they don’t want to jeopardize 2016 and will cave. We need a short-term CR now that includes language that blocks funding for Obama’s amnesty. The House should pass a short-term CR until the new Republican Congress, with newly elected GOP reinforcements in both the House and Senate are sworn in (January). At that point, they can target Obama’s amnesty funding before he can get the program off the ground. Don’t listen to the media whining about a shutdown. You never win a battle you aren’t willing to fight.
#3) This may sound harsh, but I’m going to quote RedState Erick Erickson on this. “If you don’t call and make your voice heard, you have given up your right to complain about Barack Obama’s amnesty plan. Just shut up. Stop complaining. You know why? Because you did not do the one thing that could stop it.” Conservative grassroots leaders spend all their time on research, conference calls, and meetings to develop a strategy to win. We cannot win this war for you. You have to help by calling. If you won’t at least call, you aren’t doing your part.
Here’s the list of targeted GOP officials to call. Tell staffers you are sick of cowardly Republicans. Call ALL their offices! Post a message on their Facebook pages and Tweet them! Tell them their vote has an impact on the entire country – not just their district. Tell them you will NOT donate to or help any Republican get re-elected who does not go all out to stop amnesty! Instead, you will help their primary opponent!
|Representative||State||DC Phone||District Office 1||District Office 2|
Finally, call these GOP leaders. Remind them the GOP November Election sweep was all about stopping Obama’s abuse of power, and they need to get busy doing it.
