Keep Calling – Ignore the insults!

Yes, in Republican Senate offices – rudeness and arrogance is not limited to one party.   I am hearing that some district offices are not even answering the phones.

Staffers are challenging constituents by asking them to cite the overlapping, duplicated state agencies, departments, and programs.  You did not call to be subjected to a test on your knowledge of the state budget.  The Senate Staff’s job is to take your call — not challenge what you say.  They work for you — not the other way around!  Be civil, but be firm.  Be sure to write your Senator a letter if you have been treated in a disrespectful way.

But in case you are ever quizzed again – here’s the list of overlapping, duplicated state agencies, departments, and programs just in the one area of management of natural resources:  TX Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Railroad Commission, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Public Utilities Commission, General Land Office, Agriculture Commission, Agri-Life Extension, Agri-Life Research, Animal Health Commission, (a large assortment of River, Aquifer, and Water Boards), Drought Preparedness Council. Feed and Fertilizer Control Service, Forest Service, Groundwater Protection Committee, Underground Water Conservation Committee, Soil and Water Conservation Board, Wildlife Damage Management Service, Water Development Board.   Get the picture??

Please keep calling the Senators and also call and fax Lt. Governor David Dewhurst’s office.  As President of the Senate, he should hear from you about the spending!   Lt. Governor Dewhurst: (512) 463-0001; Fax: 512-463-0677

You will help save Texas from becoming California!

If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”
