What: Weekly Conference Calls with Conservative Legislators
Why: To unite, educate and empower the Texas conservative citizen movement around conservative reform efforts in the Texas Legislature
When: Thursday, March 26, 2015
Time: 7 PM – 8 PM
Format: Grassroots America’s Executive Director JoAnn Fleming will moderate a statewide conference call with members of the Texas Legislature. The legislators will describe the bill, tell you why the bill is important, where the bill is in the legislative process, and how you can help get the bill moving!
Scheduled for this week:
Sen. Don Huffines from Senate District 16: SB 342 – Texas Constitutional Carry Act providing for the open & concealed carry of handguns without a license & to related offenses & penalties.
Sen. Van Taylor from Senate District 8: SB 19 – Senate Ethics Reform Package relating to the ethics of public officers and related requirements; creating criminal offenses.
Special guest Terri Hall, founder of Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom (TURF) will give important updates on transportation reforms and the status of the Toll-Free Texas efforts. For citizens who could not attend Toll-Free Texas Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, Terri will spotlight the top three transportation reform bills we should be actively supporting.
