The Local and Consent Calendars Committee chaired by Republican State Rep. Jared Patterson voted to honor Cecile Richards (House Resolution 236), deceased president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The 5 other GOP State Reps on that committee are Jeff Barry, Charles Cunningham, Caroline Fairly, John Lujan, and Denise Villalobos. (6 Republicans & 5 Democrats)

With 46 days left in the 89th TX Legislative Session, bills needed to protect our children from grooming, sexualization, harm and abuse are running out of time with fewer chances of passing as each day goes by. Instead of prioritizing the defense and protection of children, TX House Republicans decided to spend time bringing shame to the Texas House with HR 236.

Honoring a woman who spent her life enabling infanticide and viciously attacking Christianity is wrong.

Doing so just before Resurrection Weekend when we celebrate the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross makes it even more “in your face” evil.

Never forget that your taxpayer dollars have been used for decades to subsidize Planned Parenthood – an organization known for extracting babies – weeks from birth and capable of feeling pain – from their mothers’ wombs. Recall that Planned Parenthood’s monsters inserted sharp instruments into the soft part of babies’ heads, ripping them open to extract the brains. Then they crushed those little heads to pull them further out of the womb to make it easier to extract the little hearts, livers, lungs, and other viable organs. Unspeakably evil, they sold the discarded baby parts for filthy lucre.

Richards also developed and promoted sex-ed programs encouraging youth promiscuity in America’s schools, building a regiment of staunch advocates and lobbyists for abortion, radical sex-ed curriculum for children, and cultural Marxist policies that birthed transgenderism. She will be forever known for her soul-eating destruction of children and families.

This floor resolution to honor Richards should never have reached the Texas House floor. We need to see all Republicans united against it on the floor today.
